Councillor John Wells - Chair~NPI

A teacher for 36 years, John continues to teach part-time even in his retirement. A Councillor for Norfolk County representing Ward 6, John sits on the Norfolk Power Inc. board as a mayor representative. A graduate with a B.A. from Loyola College in Montreal and M.Ed. from McGill University, he moved to Norfolk County in 1975 and served as a City of Nanticoke Councillor for 6 years and a Regional Councillor for 3 years.

John is presently serving on the following boards: Police Services, Port Dover Harbor Marina, Norfolk General Hospital and Grace United Church.

J.J. Knott - Chair~NPDI

John Joseph ( J.J. ) Knott, CET, HMT

John (J.J.) Knott has served as the Director of Plant Operations for Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, since 1991. He has certification as an Engineering Technologist (Civil), certification as a Building Environmental Systems Operator (First Class), and certification in Medical Gas Piping Systems. He has also achieved the designation of Hospital Maintenance Technician through the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society, and is accredited, in the Building Operations field, by the Inter-provincial Facility Training Accreditation Council.

He served on the Simcoe Hydro Electric Commission from 1996 to 2000, and is currently sitting on the Board of Directors of Norfolk Power Inc. as Vice-Chair and Norfolk Power Distribution Inc. J.J. is a Past-Chair of the Niagara-Grand District of the Electricity Distributor's Association.

Mayor Dennis Travale - Board Member~NPI

A native of Delhi, three times during his career Dennis has worked on or led a corporate restructuring process, with the objectives of improving efficiency, effectiveness and economy.  He is a past-president of two national organizations that provide direction, training and professional advancement opportunities for the Canadian security community.

Dennis served on the Town of Simcoe's Economic Development Advisory Committee, the Government Relations Committee of the Simcoe & District Chamber of Commerce, the Haldimand-Norfolk Housing Corporation and the Kinvilla Housing Corporation.

Dennis has been decorated twice for his service to Canada and has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (for 20 years). He was a member of the Kinsmen Club of Simcoe where, he served as Project Leader on a number of initiatives.

Frank Casey - Vice Chair~NPDI, Board Member~NPI

Frank has over thirty years experience in senior financial management positions. He has a Bachelor of Arts (honours economics) degree and a Master of Arts (economics) degree from the University of Waterloo. Frank is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He is also a member of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives and holds the professional designation Certified Health Executive (CHE).

In 2008, Frank was conferred the designation Fellow of the Society of Management Accounts of Canada (FCMA), recognizing his service to the Society, to the profession and to the community.

Frank is an honorary life member of the Children's Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk and an honorary life member of the Volunteer Association of Norfolk General Hospital and The Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home. He is also a member of the Chief Scout Association of Canada.

Tom Lumley - Board Member~NPI

Tom has worked in heavy industry (steel; utilities) for 14 years. Tom's areas of expertise include process plant design, plant performance monitoring, reporting & metrics, asset management, project management, project portfolio management, risk management, business planning, controller-ship and managed systems. Tom served for 3 years on the Senior Management Team at the Nanticoke generating station, and is currently the manager of Project Risk Management at Ontario Power Generation.

Tom received his formal education at McMaster University in Mechanical Engineering (undergrad) and Business Administration (graduate degree).

Allan Hays has been a member of the Board since the Company was formed. He has previously served on other Boards of Directors in a variety of businesses, and has a broad range of management experience, including Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in Canada and the United States. He is a Certified Management Accountant and has attended McMaster University, University of Guelph and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Marjorie Dawson - Board Member~NPI

 Marjorie has 34 years of experience in the energy industry.  She has a Bachelor of Science Honours, Chemical Engineering from Queen's University and her MBA from the University of Toronto.

Marjorie retired in 2011 as President and CEO of Portland Pipeline Corporation and Montreal Pipeline Limited.  While in this position the pipeline was recognized by the American Petroleum Institute for excellence in safety and environmental protection and awarded the prestigious US Coast Guard award for Environmental Excellence.  Prior to that, among other positions she served as the Manager of Nanticoke and IOCO Refineries for Imperial Oil and was the Director of Safety, Environment, Civil and Marine for Exxon Research and Engineering.

Throughout her career Marjorie has served on the Boards of many organizations including the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, the American Oil Pipe Line Association, Haldimand Norfolk Womens Services and the Sarnia Lambton United Way.

John has over 30 years of business experience within a ‘team atmosphere’. During his tenure as a senior executive, he oversaw the sale and acquisition of medium sized companies, the integration of smaller companies within larger companies in the same field, and ‘lived the successes’ associated with these ventures. He knows what makes businesses become and remain successful.

John has excelled as a COO, Executive Vice President, Chief Development Officer, and as a Director. He has been employed by international franchising companies and is familiar with the Canadian marketplace, both working with and participating on various Boards.  He is quick to resolve internal and external issues, deal with media, present to individuals and groups, and has the confidence to represent an organization fairly and professionally.

A resident of Delhi, Paul is a retired Senior Manager/Mentor with Nova Scotia Power and a former General Manager with Northland Power.  Many years as a senior executive and board member in the Paper Manufacturing Industry, the Forest Products Industry and the Power Industry as well as eleven years as a Corporate Industrial Engineer, have given Paul a broad base of business knowledge.  He has been recognized for his operational leadership by the Canadian Electricity Association for management of the "Best Operation in Canada";  provincial and corporate recognition for Safety and Environmental leadership; and has served on many committees promoting employee value-added initiatives.

 Paul is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree, an Industrial Engineer, a graduate of the Philip Crosby Quality College and the Goldratt Institute in Constraint Management.  Paul has certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, Behavioural-based Safety Instruction, and DNV Loss Control.
