Residential Services
Contractors or home owners installing new electrical services or upgrading electrical services will require a layout and a cost estimate from Norfolk Power. All design and construction must be compliant with Regulation 22/04. A layout and cost estimate can be requested by calling the Engineering Department or by sending a completed Residential Service Request Form to the Engineering Department.

A layout and an estimate can take up to 15 days from the time Norfolk Power receives a phone call or the completed form. If required, a site meeting can be arranged. If a transformer is required, transformer delivery can be up to 12 weeks from the time payment is received.
Contractors and home owners installing electrical services can review Norfolk Power's requirements by downloading the specifications and drawings for:
1. Underground Services in New Subdivisions along with Drawing NP10-509
2. Underground Services for Residential and Commercial supplied by overhead system along with Drawing NP10-517
3. Overhead Services for Residential and Commercial supplied by overhead system.
After payment has been received and the electrical service has been inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), the electrical contractor is responsible to schedule the connection date with Norfolk Power which can be up to 15 days from the time the contractor calls in to schedule the connection.
