Temporary Services

For temporary service during construction, customers or contractors must complete the Temporary Service Request Form. The  information requested on the form must be provided to the Engineering Department along with a site plan drawing or sketch showing building locations and proposed point of supply  along with existing pole locations and proposed metering location.

Norfolk Power will prepare a layout and determine the cost of the temporary installation and removal. The  customer or contractor is responsible for the total installation and removal cost which must be paid prior Norfolk Power starting any work. A quotation well be sent to the customer or customer’s representative,  A layout and a quotation can take up to 15 days from the time Norfolk Power receives the completed form.  If  transformers are required,  transformer delivery can be several  weeks.  Norfolk Power will not order transformers until payment is received.

After payment has been received and the temporary electrical service has been inspected by Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) , the electrical contractor is responsible to schedule the connection date with Norfolk Power which can be up to 15 days from the time the contractor calls in to schedule the connection.
