There are many business opportunities that can make your business a valuable contributor to energy conservation and a healthier environment.
The Standard Offer Program is supported by the Ontario Power Authority as an initiative to promote and support small operators of renewable energy sources. The program allows these small operators to supply energy to their local electricity distributor at a fair and stable price. Projects range from rooftop generation of 1 kilowatt to small wind farms generating up to 10 megawatts. In Ontario, net metering allows generators of energy through renewable energy sources to benefit through their own energy costs. The value of electricity you supply to the grid will be subtracted from the value of electricity you take from the grid. On your bill will be the net difference between these two amounts which you will be responsible for paying to your local utility.
